MILJUŠ

The project "MILJUŠ - Monograph" was realized in 2011 with the idea of ​​uniting the creativity of this distinguished artist. The extensive publication presents for the first time the entire creative oeuvre that was created during an active multi-decade career, marked by many successes. Full professor at the Painting and Wall Painting subject at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and the graphics department of the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, vice president and member of the artistic council of the Graphic Collective, member of ULUS, member of Lada and the International Association " Kunstlerhaus" of fine artists of Vienna.

 

Miljuš's works can be found in many museums and galleries, as well as in private collections around the world. In addition to the most important art institutions in Belgrade, his works are part of the collections in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Turin, Warsaw, Prague, Geneva, London, Stockholm, Vienna, Buenos Aires, Washington, and other cities of the USA, and have also earned a place in the collection of the museum of the imperial court complex in Kyoto, Japan. During his entire career, he was a versatile fine artist - he was engaged in painting, graphics, mosaics, stained glass, illustration and graphic design. He painted murals on many buildings in Belgrade, and completed many urban locations with extraordinary mosaic compositions. On his initiative, the decoration of the wall of the Belgrade Zoo with the works of final year students of FLU began. Also, his monumental stained glass is the central motif of the entrance hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

 

"Branko Miljuš was one of the most productive creators in our community for over fifty years. Considering the peculiarities of his art, the variety of artistic techniques he used, considering the development and transformations that took place in his entire creation, his works were constantly current in artistic representations and at the same time were not current as literal examples for critical promotions of some from new phenomena." states the author of the monograph, art historian Ljiljana Slijepčević.
