Marko Crnobrnja Wooden Pedagogy

In 2020, the Thalberg Gallery in Zurich organized an exhibition of wooden sculptures by Marko Crnobrnja.

Excerpt from the essay by  Gordana Stanišić, 'Marko Crnobrnja Wooden Pedagogy':

"Marko chose wood as his primary working material because, to put it simply, he recognized and adopted it as a direct illusion of a living form, as a flexible and soft, vital material that provokes again and again, while unquestioningly surrendering its rich structure and warmth of colors from nature to modeling skills. With him, the author establishes close contact and the best communication, because he takes him back to his childhood, at a time when wood was an unavoidable constructive element of the tools of children's play and imagination, and not just a product of retro processing of monopolistic industries of hypermodern hyperproducts."

“His sculpture is not limited by appearance or size, nor is it limited by any theory or aesthetic cliché of modeling or presentation; it is limited only by thinking about what might compromise the effectiveness of sending the message."
