Ivana Milev: Endless strings

ARTE Gallery devotes a significant part of its program to artists who stand out on the contemporary domestic art scene. With an authentic creative approach, a number of young artists capture the attention of professional and wider audiences, as well as collectors.
Ivana Milev stands out among artists of the younger generation because she very quickly formed a unique author's expression and achieved high-quality artistic production. Ivana Milev's work is characterized by abstract expression, not figurative or narrative. The formal elements of her works are the carriers of the artistic content - material properties, structure, number of individual elements, symmetry, balance (harmony), volume, texture, color, space, time...
With the exhibition Ivaan Milev MICRO systems, in parallel with the display of a selection of works that correspond to the renovated space of the iconic Gallery of the Student Cultural Center, ARTE gallery has published a monograph that shows the entire work of the artist so far in all its size and quality. The title of the bilingual (Serbian-English) monograph is Ivana Milev, Beskonačni nizovi | Infinite Strings, and the authors of the texts published in the monograph are Luka Tripković, Ivana Milev, Ana Mihailović and Milan Naskovića.
Luka Tripković about Ivana Milev: "The opportunity for the artist to exhibit her works in the decorated space of the gallery of the Student Cultural Center (...) is an event that I am looking forward to. In the recent works of Ivana Milev, she goes from found objects, from which she creates works, to objects that are completely created by the artist. Through dedicated and thorough work and constant re-examination, her expression becomes perfectly polished and stripped of everything superfluous. In the previous decade, in parallel with sculptures, the artist also made collages that did not deviate from three-dimensional objects, and now it seems that she has synthesized those two approaches and created works in which color becomes one of the elements."
