Thalberg&Arte gallery's activities aimed to bring modern and contemporary art from the former Yugoslavia and Serbia to European and global audiences through its exhibition space in Zurich.

Đorđe Ivačković (1930–2012), after completing his formal education in the field of architecture, dedicated his life to painting. Even as a very young artist, he asserted himself as an abstract painter on the world art scene, operating from Paris since 1963, simultaneously exhibiting on the French and Yugoslav art scene. The 1960s and 1970s were very significant for Ivačković's entire creativity, because the artistic work of those years affirmed, celebrated and strengthened him on the international stage. In those years, eminent Parisian gallerists began to represent him, and to present his work to a world audience through the international art fair FIAC. Ivana Benović's text An apology for painting explains the flow and development of Ivačković's way of working, compares it with the flow of art in Belgrade, Paris and the world, and adds the artist's personal approach, which, connected with other visual and fine arts, makes a significant contribution to the appearance of his works.
